Who am I?
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Missouri, USA, a certified coach CPC, ELI-MP, and a founder of Begin Again Consciously.
Originally from Pakistan, raised in the Middle East, now living in the USA for 22 years—I am armed with 17+years of mental health experience as a therapist, specializing in CBT, EMDR, and ACT. As a trained and certified leadership coach, my skill sets are vast.
My vision is to re-humanize ourselves, who we are holistically— as individuals, professionals, and in relationships. I focus on uncovering unconscious patterns and overcoming habits that hold you from attaining true success. I explore, and dig deeper into your belief system, internal language, neuron pathways, and reactive behaviors to establish new ways of being— that will raise self-awareness, activate emotional intelligence, increase confidence, and enhance relationships to lead an aligned life.
My mission is to guide and support your healing from the past, discover core internal and external values, identify priorities, explore new perspectives and viewpoints, and design the life of your desire and deserve.
“Life you desire is the life you deserve-- To build a life that serves your purpose; you need the mindset, the skillsets and a Therapeutic Coach as your partner.”
Afshan Malik
What does it mean to Begin Again Consciously?
As a healer and intuitive by nature, I know how challenging yet fulfilling emotional transitional stages and the new beginnings in life can be.
Every life transition is a new beginning, bringing new opportunities to start fresh. Unfortunately, our past experiences, inner dialogues, insecurities, and thought patterns influence our present habits, behaviors, and mindset, making life dull and unproductive. This feeling of stuck-ness in a “rut” creates a blocked vision that prevents growth and movement. And even if we try to break away to make a new beginning, we only end up attaining the same results by repeating the patterns.
Begin Again Consciously can help you IF :
You want to learn why, when, and how you self-sabotage your success and relationships.
You want to gain mastery over yourself and your emotions.
You want greater clarity, focus, and commitment to your life goals.
You want to grow professionally and have an abundance.
You want to feel less stressed, more in control, and happier.
You want to rekindle or restore essential relationships.
You want to become a more effective communicator.
Most of all, You want to Begin Again.
How can I, as a Therapeutic Transitional Coach, help?
By uncovering the patterns of your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, challenges, and expectations. The therapeutic coaching process focuses on your vision, strengths, reveals triggers and situations where you “get in your way”.
In our process, first, you heal from your emotional wounds and then tap into your inner wisdom, strengths, and creativity—To gain clarity, confidence, and growth to become intentional and conscious of moving forward more effectively and efficiently.
I’m passionate about empowering people; my role is to provide insight, guidance, accountability to support your progress towards becoming conscious in your new beginning.
I believe…
I believe that everyone can work through their problems and live their life at their best. But left unchecked, every day’s internal and external stressors and blocks can cause overwhelming stressors that may impact one’s ability to process thoughts and make effective decisions.
I believe in providing an open, non-judgmental, safe environment for you to clear brain fog and make room for fresh-out-of-the-box perspectives and solutions for ongoing challenges to attain confidence and reach optimal functioning.
I adhere to and encourage self-care, self-awareness, personal responsibility, and personal accountability to attain personal development and growth.
I focus on strengths and achievements and learning from failures.
I believe people cannot be aware of their full potential and strengths until they know their flaws.
I think that love and relationships are two different things, and people confuse them and make relationships more confusing by having unhealthy expectations.
I don't believe in perfection. I believe in progression.
What Clients Are Saying…
“Prior to working with Afshan I had issues handling the pressures of work/life balance. I was concerned with my loss of confidence in myself, behavior changes, and not feeling like myself.
I gained exceptional tools to use with some daily challenges in my life.
She helped me find myself again, by helping me regain elements of myself I allowed the world to take from me through different experiences.
Taught me to think and speak differently over situations so that I am able to have a strategic approach.
Afshan has really been a blessing to my life. She helped me excel professionally and personally and I am forever grateful.
Thank you for all you have helped me overcome!” - Tanika P.
“I had the pleasure of having Afshan as my life coach. My experience with Afshan has been life changing to say the least. She has a very unique way of coaching that i really enjoyed. She combined her coaching skills, as well as, her counseling experience to both coach me and help me understand the “why” behind what I was experiencing which i really appreciated. I came to Afshan with the biggest goal of wanting to heal myself emotionally. I was feeling an underlying pain that never parted ways with me for years. I didn’t know where that pain was coming from, but i wanted to rid myself of it because it was weighing too heavily on me. Afshan helped me realize that my pain was due to a grief trauma that i had had at a younger age. Afshan also introduced me to EMDR which helped me tremendously with dealing with my grief trauma and going through the feelings that i had suppressed for many years. Thanks to Afshan, i no longer have to deal with that underlying pain that i thought was becoming a part of me. I feel lighter and more free.” — Noran E.
“When I came to Afshan I was struggling to deal with trauma from my past, seeing myself clearly and feeling hopeless. Afshan has helped me immensely through teaching and journaling to get more in touch with who I am at my core, disconnect emotionally from my traumas, and recognizing the signs of my old habits/attitudes. Now I feel more in touch with myself, I am better at managing my relationships and I feel like a weight has been lifted!” - Ashlee S.
